Making Canadian Finance Transparent & Private.

We build fast, free, and privacy-focused tools to help Canadians plan their future without handing over their data to banks or government portals.

Privacy First

Your financial data never leaves your device. All calculations happen locally in your browser. We don't have a database, and we don't want one.

Official Data

Our models are updated annually using official indexing rates from the CRA, Service Canada, and Statistics Canada. No magic numbers.

Open Source

We believe financial formulas should be transparent. Our calculation logic is open for inspection to ensure accuracy and trust.

The Story Behind LoonieFi

Like many Canadians, we found ourselves frustrated when trying to plan for the future. Official government calculators are often buried behind login portals or are overly simplistic tools that don't account for real-world scenarios like shared custody, early retirement, or varying inflation rates.

We built LoonieFi to bridge that gap. We wanted to create a suite of tools that are fast, modern, and respectful of your privacy.

This site is a passion project. It generates no revenue, sells no data, and serves no ads. It exists simply to help you make better financial decisions.

Data Sources & Methodologies

  • Canada Pension Plan (CPP)

Calculations utilize the 2025 YMPE ($71,300) and YAMPE ($81,100) ceilings defined by the CRA. Enhancement phases 1 and 2 are modeled based on the official C-26 legislation.

  • Child Benefits (CCB)

Base Benefit and Phase-out thresholds are indexed to the July 2025 rates (4.7% adjustment factor estimate). Provincial benefits include OCB (Ontario), ACFB (Alberta), and Family Benefit (BC).

  • Inflation & Cost of Living

Food inflation data is sourced from the 'Canada's Food Price Report 2025' (Dalhousie University/University of Guelph), adjusted for provincial CPI variations.
